crispy131313 SC3

Post by crispy131313 »

First 5 minutes:

Installation was easy and I was up and running first try no problems.
The game start up looked very crisp, an upgrade over it's predecessor.
After the first 5 mins I still had not made a move and was just looking around the map. I did feel that the units blended into the map. Overall I was very excited it looks like a real winner.

First 30 minutes:

Game play was good, I was a little rusty coming back to hexes, after having played lots of SC2. The presentation of decisions/events was a big upgrade. The attack on Poland felt good, as in the game felt like it had the right amount of units and appropriate power.

I knew going in the interface was a work in process but I found the menu's took way to long to come back to the screen after I stopped moving the mouse. When I wanted to save or click on settings the pause reminded me of slow internet, which is not good. However the map scroll and commands, including UI commands react quickly so I think the pause of waiting for the menus to return are by design.

First hour:

After conquering Poland I did a bit of looking around to see what changes were in store. I am very happy to see that there is some more engagement with minors/politics and non convoy MPP resources from Major Minors. Took a look at the editor and WOW there are tools for this game to expand in scope and/or timeline. Very excited for what is in store for the future and what can be added for ourselves as well!

Back to the game I played a bit more and the map felt a little dark, again it came back to lots blending together and I am still very young with good eyes. I think it is not the map, but maybe the counters could be brightened. I went back to the editor and I feel like the units really pop out in the editor. Not sure if it's due to national colors, or weather but I don't get the units popping at me in the actual game.

Hi Chris

I just compared in game to the Editor and with National Colors switched on they do look the same, but with National Colors turned off it does brighten up the game map a lot.
