turn sequencing, is this WAD?

Post by gwgardner »

1) It's Dec 1, I click end turn as Germans
2) The Allied turn commences for Dec 15
3) Next German turn is Dec 29.

I have sent the save to Hubert just in case it is a problem.

Hubert said that this is designed this way
IMO needs to be changed.

It gives the perception that a turn is being skipped. I figure there will be lots of questions about that when the game is released, till players get used to it. Players are used to each side playing their turn for a given date.

I can see the perception issue if you are used to playing games where each side played their turn for a given date, however if we introduced this then would be doubling the number of turns for the game unless we changed the length of the turns as well, i.e. doubled the date length of the turns to compensate such as 2 week turns going to 1 month turns.

If we only doubled the number of turns, we would then have to refactor income, built times, action points and so on to slow things down in game which would be no small task.

The easiest solution for us at the moment is that hopefully everyone gets used to it as it is [;)]
