You are certainly welcome, I'm getting my share of help from here also. I'm glad we can say what we want, and that it's up to somebody else to figure out what will stick and what won't, not me.

I've adapted to looking at the bottom of the screen when I mouse over hexes to see what they are because it seems a slight bit easier to see. But sometimes I can't even read the unit names, so something like XXVII I'll change to 27 so I can make it out. 1280 x 1060 here, with old eyes.

Personally, I don't know why the recent trend in map making is to make everything the same shade of darkness. It must appeal to something, but to me the map should be identifiable at a glance. Same goes for units.

I'm up to August 1941 and having a blast, I just captured Malta !! My reward was the USSR declared war on me. A topic for another thread another day, but the Soviets probably would not have declared war on Germany unless there were more severe circumstances.

my play tests so far is seeing how good the AI is by leaving open some places to see if the AI takes them or not, so far so good, the AI isn't stupid and doesn't make simple mistakes it seems, but still only a few turns in so not fully sure as yet either, map for me is main concern, too small txt far too often to read so for now will just not bother trying to read them and test what i can, seems we agree on map colours and units not standing out enough, but on any display i've testes so far, the ability to read most things are too hard and will cause some or many moans, as it's been mentioned before, so atm anyway this part hasn't been listen to or altered, but this is where feedback and beta's are here for imo, if enough mention it, either they go ahead regardless, or alter it or meet everyone half way, to me also there is a level of zoom missing, as close in is needed for many reasons, anything where you need to read any info on a given unit or place, it's hard to not be able to fully read the txt clearly without really trying, making long term testing and playing a chore atm

seems even with FOW off i can't see Italy units when i test as the Germans? WAD or WIP?

undo doesn't work as if selected, no button displayed?

every unit moved gets a base, even if you select to not show bases?

27" & 29" displays tested with high res shown / selected, still the same eye strain looking at any txt in game, can't see as mentioned before unit for upgrades shown in green, txt just far too small to be of any use

3D units are not done yet afaik. I think if you zoom out and then back in they should appear, could be wrong though, I only play with counters.
Btw as SpzAbt already mentioned I recommend you read this:
tm.asp?m=4105023

Also wouldn't hurt to read some other feedback to see what others have reported already[:)]

yep reading others posts now, but for me a bug list and already reported one also would be a good idea instead of left all over the place[8|][:D]

as when or if another wave of testers, or late like me come in, you don't have such or so many to read even before you do anything else tbh[;)]

not sure either of the black blank supply screen either unless again its WIP

edited, spelling [;)][:D]

first fall of snow seen, and tbh something else not liked either i'm sorry to say, the display has gone from bad to worse, now towns or units can't be clearly seen and it looks a mess

i'd also like a option to disable edge of screen scrolling as well as the whole screen refresh for me is one that happens far too often and not only put me off, it also slows the whole thing down having to refresh the whole screen with the slightly mouse move, not handy and not very helpful for a epic game type sim tbh, makes it counter productive imo[:(]

for me my list or wishlist for no better use of the word would be,

in no order mind you,

the ability to zoom in one more level, this is in my opinion need for many reasons, the first being able to see clearly what's on screen, which atm isn't as good as i'd hoped.

2nd,

when txt is displayed on some given screens, the size of the txt and colors used don't always make it easy to read comfortable on all size screens / resolutions etc

3rd,

background colors choices imo need to be without 1 or 2 points above used altered for the user to be able to at a glance fully see and be able to distinguish between sides or unit types, which atm isn't always easy either.

4th,

alter the weather types but not covering and masking off the whole screen, as snow as shown above hinders you as it does in real life as it's now displayed, this imo isn't great, and maybe is too over the top atm or too heavy or much.

5th,

txt, sometimes on 3 lines of txt, there is 3 colors used which maybe for some, maybe easier or harder to read, maybe get rid of these altogether and do hover overs, hover the mouse over a given place and a txt info box shows up and displays some given information at a good size, instead of the smallest font size being used etc?

In regards to the bases on your units appearing after upgrades, as far as I know it is WAD. I play with bases off on units too and apparently after moving or upgrading them the bases appear to denote that the unit has expended it's action points.

still not sure of the display, the size of the txt and images as well, the overall play is ok, the lack of tool tips and not great zooms and explaining of some items in game does make me feel there's still quite a lot of work still to do, regarding balance, well that depends on the skill level of the player testing for me it's ok as i'm on easy with all options to make it as easy as possible on while i learn the game still, the amount of options in game and before the game starts means i'd guess there will be a endless amount of fixing post release as all the combinations of scripts can't be all tested with results known either, so this is maybe a large challenge, it's better and bigger than the others i've played, but better is an opinion depending on the level of difficulty you like and can handle when playing, as like i said before, there's a lot of options, will suit some but not all i'd guess, not a easy as Panzer Corp types games and not as complex as WITE or W for that matter, so in the middle and aimed at that sector of the market, not sure if the scale of use of abstract units works or not as not really played / tested it enough to make my mind up, but time wise i can't follow history with dates in game, so maybe a time line in game of where you are and where you should be may helps this for some, but confuse others as well, so not really sure either, some parts counter moving seem easy enough, but menu's and options are not only different by many, so do feel the in game tutorial and guides will have to be many to fully understand to the none series player, as this will either keep buyers from the others in the series only getting this atm, or only a few new none series players, this is only my impression and feedback, based on my limited knowledge and plays of the previous series and now a few weeks on this one, the direction is good, but still some progress to go so look forward to the next build and see what and by how much it's changed[&o]
