New Campaign
I'm working on a new fictional campaign. . .
It takes place in the Spanish Civil War. Basically it goes like this:
You are a Major in charge of a small battalion that basically fights its way in a fictional national spanish campaign to control spain's southern coast. You start fighting around mid-northern Spain, then work way down to the coast, where you have to capture several towns/military bases.
Anyone interested?

The Nationalists eh?
If you're interested, Redleg has prepared a number of SCW scenarios that he was thnking of pulling together into a campaign. You might be interested to get in touch.
Redleg has a feel for battles of this era, and has produced some interesting ones, including some N Af ones.
FWIW.

I will get in touch with him.
My campaign is kind of basic, more fun than historical, etc...
Not too taxing. So far we have examples of several methods of fighting;
Standard assault on a lightly defended position (small hill)
Capture a city with a bridge
Capture a coastal city
Capture a coastal fortress
It'd make a good trainer.

I'm rather interested in it too. Campaigns have long fascinated me. Let me know when its ready. Do you have a home for it?
And no apology needed about historical accuracy. The minute the player starts buying units it loses much of the historical accuracy.
Some are more historical than others. They still should be fun to play and have the feel of the times. That is good enough for me, my friend.
Good luck with it...WB

a Spainish Civil war campaign sounds awesome.

Oh uh, big block here...
I have the campaign (I'm calling this beta 1) all done up...and I go to look for the files in the campaign directory and. . . I cannot figure out which ones are my campaign...Anyone who could tell me how to determine which are mine?
go to the campaign editor and count which slot is your campaign.
then close SPWaW and open the windows explorer.
go to C:/MatrixGames/Steel Panthers World at War/Campaigns
Look for the files that starts with c###sXXX
"###" should be the slot of your campaign. (so, if your campaign is on slot # 16 you have to look for all files name c16sXXX
"XXX" are the diferent scenarios (there are 4 diferent files for each scenario: txt, dat, cmt & rec).
Aditionally, look for a file name ucamp###. This is the file that order how the scenarios have to be linked.
Hope this helps
and send your fascistas, no pasarán

Decoy, Invite, Entrap, Destroy.
you need to know the campaign slot you placed your game in.
You will need to count down the campaign list carefully (the first slot is campaign 0) by ones until you reach your campaign's name - the number you get is the 'slot' number.
Now go into the campaign folder and find all files that are named with 'c0xxyyy.yyy' - the 'xx' is your slot number. There will be .txt, .dat, .rec, and .cmt files
Another way is also to simply click on suspected .txt files - WIndows will open with Notepad - you can read the text and see if it goes with your game...once you find a .txt file with your stuff you can derive the slot number from the file naming convention.
And don't forget the ucamp file at the bottom - the ucamp file controls the player's points and branching - can't start a campiagn without one - it will be named 'ucamp0xx'
For example, Russian Steel loads to campaign slot #22 (i.e. in the campaign listing from the player's menu, it's the 23rd slot from the top)
RS files look like:
c022a000.txt = the introductory text screen
c022i003.txt = the intro text for battle 3
c022014.dat = data file for battle 14
ucamp022 = branching instructions and build points
Good Luck
