I have produced land units furiously for Barbarossa and think I have just barely enough, but probably not. I was unable to invest in air units - just too expensive, not enough impact in a campaign that big.

However I need air power in Barbarossa, of course, so I've had to shift my entire air force to the East. That's only 3 fighters and 3 tac bombers, 1 medium bomber.

Now I have no land-based air units in Norway, none anywhere on the Western coast, none defending against any Allied strategic bombing. Just can't afford any air units!

That's no fun.

I suggest the flagship scenario be amended to have less-powerful, but cheaper land-based air units, so that all fronts and roles can be played. The player cannot have fun with the air game unless there are air units to have fun with.

One additional bomber is scripted during the West Campaign. There are one tactical and one fighter for the Africa Corps. Finally two additional fighters for Finns and Romanians. And not to forget the med bomber and the fighter of the Italien Airforce.

Finally 3 med Bombers, 4 tactical and 7 Fighters without additional purchases. Where are all your units? [&:]

Don't have the Finns. I'll need the Romanians in the East. The Italians just to defend Italy. Even with what you've listed, I can't play the anti-naval game in Norway or on the Atlantic Coast.

There's not much point in the scripted events like UK taking Iceland, and US taking Greenland, or even any Allied effort in Norway, if the Germans have no opportunity due to the cost of the units, of ever doing anything there. Not to mention, safeguarding its industrial base from strategic attacks.

At the very least, I think cheaper and more air units would be something good to try in a mod of the flagship scenario.

Their worth will vary from game to game, but Iceland and Greenland can be very useful as extra bases for operations against German U-Boats, with the possibility to stage Maritime Bombers in Iceland helping too (once upgraded with Long Range aircraft).

There is also the danger to be avoided - that of the Axis taking Iceland and using it as a base.

It might be that some changes I'll be making to reduce damage suffered by Tactical Bombers when intercepted might help here. Maybe try it out once I've made the change, and we can all discuss where we're at with this then?

I'm not strictly averse to some price reductions, but would like to see if these changes fix the issue first.
