New Events Suggestions

Post by crispy131313 »

Are new event suggestions welcome at this point? I've been doing some tinkering already seeing how some of my previous mod events would work in this new game. Not sure if now is the best time to starting messing with game balance or if we should just wait [:)]

Hi

Yes and no, as it might be some time before any new ones get implemented, but it is always interesting to see new ideas and it's not impossible that some could be added in the future.

I do think that I'd always say no to this one, unless I was set up to invade Spain that way.

Question is, in what circumstances do you trigger it? Maybe if Portugal is at least 50% Allied so some diplomacy has to be invested first?

Giving the Axis time to notice something is afoot, thus retaining some balance, and for you to build up your invasion force too?

The event is triggers based on Spain and Portugal maintaining their game starting diplomatic leaning and fires at the beginning of allied turn 1. This will buy time for Allies to reinforce if they would choose this route. On the first turn both Italy and Germany have diplomatic decisions that can show their hand with their diplomatic intensional with Spain as well. Event is a historical what if:

"Upon the declaration of war in September 1939, the Portuguese Government announced on 1 September that the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance remained intact, but since the British did not seek Portuguese assistance, Portugal would remain neutral. In an aide-mémoire of 5 September 1939, the British Government confirmed the understanding. British strategists regarded Portuguese non-belligerency as "essential to keep Spain from entering the war on the side of the Axis."

I've researched a lot for what If decisions such as what would it take to entice Greece to join the Axis and what would the consequences Would be.
