Well, I can answer *half* your questions: "When he's done." Gee, now I can get a job with a Major Software Company, I know the line... <G>

(Not hassling Matrix, if anyone suspects; there's a whole lotta games out there with that line [or rather, "When it's done"] as a release date. I think HalfLife 2 was listed as such for some time, and I think Team Fortress Classic 2 still is, as well as the next Duke Nukem game...)

Anyway, rest assured that with this many people going "Oooh! Oooh! Oooh!" over his screenies and progress-posts, it'll be announced pretty blatantly. <G> "Where" is a different question, as I suspect it'll bulk out well over the forum-postable size limitation, and (probably) be a bit inconvenient for email. <shrug>

Alls I know is, *I want*. <droool>

Mike,
I love that faded/old map background.
What a game!! What other game has been modified so much and still keeps improving even after it's been abondoned by the original company?
Jim,
Thanks for posting the screenshots, they are awesome!

Fantastic stuff! I really like the art in this one. Of course, Mike Amos has always been known for his abilities in this field. I don't think he learned that in the USMC, but whereever he got it from, he is putting it to good use.

I've got me a list of scenarios that I'm more than ready to do in this one...BRING IT ON!

Hi guys-FYI

Post by Warhorse »

Hello all, thanks to Jim, I was able to have the various screen samples posted for review! This is a private venture project, Matrix isn't involved in this one, although I wish they were, so you will need to be very patient, as free time is limited! I am currently pretty much done with the units for NKPA, Turkey, and Colombia. The main focus of this will be mostly PBEM, like H2H, but also for scenario design, "The Wild One" is already chomping at the bit!!:D I don't really have an estimated time of release at this time, as it is very early in the project, just wanted you folks to know something is in the works for this era!

The biggest problem I foresee will be a way to make this available, size-wise, it will require a previous install of H2H, since some of the LBM's will be used from that, this will keep down size also, as well as the shp files, although a lot of unit icons will be redone/added. I've not asked for help in this, except for a small group so far, since I don't want to be hampered by deadlines, nor the hassle of managing many different opinions, which I encountered working on the oob team for WAW, so this will impact deadline release also. I will try to keep everyone appraised of the situation, as I make progress, but please be patient, this time of year I have very little free time!!

Stay tuned!

*Colombia*? As in cocaine? Did I miss this in the listing of lesser-know UN forces? <G>

I am drooling as well. As to where to put it. I wonder if Tankhead, Fabio and some of the other sites will be willing to host it.

Well, I'm hoping to keep the file to 30mb or less, the problem for the host would be bandwidth, I would imagine. Hopefully, when the time comes to release it, I will be able to get Blitz or someone to host!

Thanks RedMike, I'm stoked about this project!!
