Good to see we are getting some joy with naval search.
Indeed. Although I kind of chickened out in the end. Maybe I should have stayed and played one more round. I might have been to worried about the shiny new battleships in the Italian ports that could reinforce Italian fleet for next impulse. So I decided to go home and collect our winnings. But at the same time it irks me to abandon that sea area. [:D]

What do you think about the Spanish situation? I thought Germany would advance towards Gibraltar as fast as possible. But now it seems that Axis will prioritize knocking Spain out of the war over reaching Gibraltar fast.

I am considering landing the HQI and MECH in the Bilbao area. And that leaves one land move for CW. Or I could leave the HQI and MECH at sea for a return to base in South of Spain and have three land moves in Spain. Thoughts? Should the CW Militia in Bilbao move to the hex SW of Bilbao?

The old military maxim - if you defend everywhere then you end up defending nowhere [:D]

I think that the priority for defence remains holding Gibraltar - with whatever we can afford thereafter going to holding in the north.

Re the Militia. Yes I think that is sensible.

Well said. [:)]

It is just that I do not like the idea of Spain being conquered. Especially the first turn. [:(]

AT to Chisinau
This is somewhat ambiguous since there are two Soviet AT units that can reach Chisinau.

I'll make the other nations land moves then I will get back to USSR and see if things are clearer then.

Edit: Since you are not online I decided to move the one west of Cutatea-Alba. Reasoning that this is the more likely AT because you moved another unit to this hex.

Sorry my fault - I will try and be more precise in future.

It was the AT north of the city moving south. Never mind no biggy.

I hope that we will be in a position to pass with most, or all, countries next impulse. But I doubt it. [:D]

Think positive - there won't be a next impulse as you will throw a '1' for ending the turn. FACT.

No pressure [:D]

Indeed. [:(]

You are now our official turn ender. [:)] I hope that we do not have to use your ability to end the turn just yet. Let the evil Axis end this one now.

No I think we should ask the Axis if we can have another go at ending our turn as we intended for me to throw and you threw by mistake.....

How many corps/HQ does the CW have in Spain, and how many more can they get there, and how many in the north can the Germans kill?

I am asking because of the US entry effect. Will you get the US support roll?

(And if you do, will you roll another 9? [:)] )

The ones in Bayonne could switch with some Spanish units.

How many corps/HQ does the CW have in Spain, and how many more can they get there,
CW has 4 corps/HQ in Spain. And they have three more that they can get into Spain.

Currently in Spain is: HQI + MOT + MECH + MIL (+2 divisions)

And the following units can enter Spain:
GARR in Bayonne
INF in Tangier
HQA in Algiers

Ah! Unless the Germans kill one of your units this impulse, and immediately end the turn, it looks like you are all set to roll a nine! [:)]

Well as a glass half full sort of bloke, I'll take that go! But 1:1 Assault table........ [&:]

Right Ormster what is the plan? I guess trying to end the turn is too risky?

No reason for the Soviets or the ChiComms to move this impulse.

I am very open for suggestions.

In regards of passing I have yet to decide what I think I need to look at the map and I will not do that until tomorrow.

----

I am somewhat pleased that Germany has been focusing towards Bilbao instead of towards Gibraltar. But, as a very wise man recently said, we can not really defend both and since I am trying I may very well make a mess of both. CW, however, is slowly running out of units. And moves.

Fortunately, I think, that the Italians landed in Spain instead of in Africa.

First question. Should the RN sail into the Western Med? Risk their precious carriers there?

I'll get back tomorrow after I looked at what is available at Gibraltar. Not much if memory serves.

Yes I will download tomorrow and have a look. I suspect that they will not continue to concentrate in the north and will move south.... but we can always hope not [;)]
