Re-routing convoys

Post by Coaltar »

Hello All,
I am having trouble rerouting a convoy to a new sea area. The instructional video shows that if I want to change one of the sea areas in a route all I have to do is right click on it and it will turn red and then I can select the entire route by selecting each contiguous sea area in turn. The problem is that the sea area route in the Route display (when shown with the Layout or "Route") only highlights the clicked on route as yellow, not red. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Hi all,
Well since many people have read the post but no one answered I am guessing it is a bug. Oh, and although the sea area doesn't turn red it does outline in red. Is that an indication that I am missing a process step? Bringing up the form and selecting the 1 route and then rerouting that way sure looks like an easy way to change the sea area that a route is going through but is there another way if this is a bug (or maybe a feature that didn't make it into the final release?).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

To be true I read it but I have no idea, I know pretty well WIF and I try to answer related matters, but I quit playing MWIF a month after I bought it because of not having a decent netplay and I am still waiting for it. So I don't really know/remember how the game deals with rerouting convoys. Sorry.

Maybe this can give you some answers? It seems the convoy's matter is complex and some possible upgrades won't happen anytime soon. But I still cannot tell if you are following the correct procedure, cause I just dont use teh game at this time, maybe someone can comment whether you are doing it right or not.

I can only say that without a gamesave, I can't really check if there is something wrong in your game. However, there are some issues with default convoy routings at this moment.

Thanks all,
Attached is the saved game. I decided the best way to fix it like I want is to make all the paths idle and start from scratch.
Let me know what you find.
Oh, not sure if I needed to but I renamed the .gam file extension. Just change it back.
Thanks

It is not so much a bug as it is a complete failure of the convoy system. It can be very frustrating to use, as it is only occasionally functional. Your best bet is to idle your resources and then start over.
