RE: TOP SECRET ORMSTER + WARSPITE ONLY
The remaining ships in Gibraltar to the Western Med. I know that leaves us open to a counter from the Littorios but if we get lucky there are two TRS that are begging to be sunk.
Time to leave Bayonne? Garrison to join the Guards Infantry and the Motorised unit to Bilbao. That would leave one move in the south to shore up the mountain approach to Gibraltar.

No moves required by the ChiComms
The Soviets
45mm AT in Chisinau to 59,54
76mm AT to Chisinau (Disrupted)
I was considering an attack with the Nationalists against Hengyang, but we would only get 1:1 +1..... not worth the downside.

How about everyone passes except the CW? Would give us one more chance of ending the turn?

Fight the Axis navy, fight them! (Best said in your best Scottish Royal Navy Hero accent, whatever famous seaborne Scots there may have been?)
What did the real Royal Navy do with the HMS Campbeltown?
Otherwise quite soon the Axis sailors will be taunting you a second time - Running away, eh?
If you play the Allies with force preservation in mind, you lose the game. Plus the Royal Navy already has the KGV on the way now (instead of a much more useful INF), so ... fight them! If you whack those TRS, Egypt is safe, even with Gibraltar lost, though Wellington would be proud of the war in Spain so far. Take every chance you can at them. It's all about the search dice, not the caliber of gun you are facing, so roll the bones.

I would not say that the RN, in this game, has force preservation in mind. But, at the same time, CW can fast get a navy inferior to the combined German and Italian navy. The RN has not yet KGV on the way but HMS Duke of York (and thanks to US it only cost 2 BPs to complete). Not much difference but the name. But, the point is, HMS Duke of York is a long way from operational and the Italians already has two Littorios on standby and next turn they will have Richelieu as well. Italy also has a total of seven (7!) battleships in the repair and construction pool. CW can fast become outgunned at sea. And that is before I even considered the Italian naval bombers and its pesky fighters that reach the two box.
Sending two carriers out with a single cruiser as escort might be in the tradition of the RN but I am not yet convinced that it is the wise thing to do.
Maybe I should include the slow battleships but then the fleet only reach the 2 box. Only 20% chance of finding then. [:(] Or maybe some of the weak Spanish cruisers should be included?
Anyway. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It has given me something to ponder on. [:)]

RE: TOP SECRET ORMSTER + WARSPITE ONLY
Do not send out carriers with inadequate escorts. The two box is fine; it finds 2/3rds or the time the three box does. Not only do the battleships provide defense against surface ships; they provide critical anti-aircraft fire. Be aware of magic numbers on the AA table. If sending an import unit (CV, TRS, AMPH), always have six points of AA. It would be nice to have ten. With six, at even surprise, you will roll against a single bomber. Against what the Italians have, that will frequently take it to zero.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

My personal hint, Germany has much todo in Spain: Rail Inf div to ex Tallin. Relocate ATR to Leningrad. Next turn put MTN in Leningrad. Demand border lands. If war, invade with inf div behind enemy lines and reinforce with Air transported MTN.

Yes the 1-4 in Cernauti to Leningrad makes sense.

No cause for concern, Sir, no cause at all. We all know that the Royal Navy will prevail, and there can be only one end to this sad affair. The only question is how long time it will take, and who many who suffers before the boche learn their lesson. They can't possibly win.ORIGINAL: warspite1

Would you join me, Sir, for afternoon tea? I heard Len Hutton hurt his arm in training. Do you think he will be able to break his own record after this ugly affair is finished?

RE: TOP SECRET ORMSTER + WARSPITE ONLY
The CW outnumbers the Kriegsmarine + Regia Marina 13:7 in BB. Seek battle wherever the bad guys haven't concentrated their NAV (as presently), or the superior force becomes the inferior force. Brittania rules the seas and Continental transports should always live very short lives. Port Strike them if they run away - force the Axis to defend them - that's one less FTR at the Tommies' front lines.
Also don't abandon Bayonne - whatever for? What would the von Herr Generals on the other side want you to do?

RE: TOP SECRET ORMSTER + WARSPITE ONLY
I do not want to abandon Bayonne but I thought I was to weak to defend all hexes well. So only one unit defend Bayonne, for now. However, there is now a risk that Axis will capture the hex before it is reinforced.ORIGINAL: brian brian

The odds are even in greaten favour to CW when counting battleships. So I really need to transfer more (slow) battleships to the West Med. My main reason for concern is that Axis soon will outnumber CW in modern battleships. And, of course, their air power. I had hoped to reduce it somewhat this turn.
I've already port strike the Italian navy once. And it has been guarded by one fighter since then. I think that the German navy been guarded as well. And I did a port strike on the Italian submarines. That was really fun.
Thank you for you comments and insights. [&o][:)] It reminds me that I am to cautious by nature. [:D]

No. The TRS already was in the sea area and couldn't pick up a unit. I think it was Pola who picked up the div (if I read that picture right).ORIGINAL: warspite1

I aborted the TRS because it was giving the Italians sea supply. With it aborted, the sea supply is gone as well. The possibility of aborting the TRS was the main, or maybe even the only, reason that CW stayed for a second round.
