Are mines laid in one big minefield or UV makes track of every individual minefield?

Post by Apollo11 »

Hi all,

I was talking with my PBEM opponent and we were discussing the minefields
in UV.

He (Oleg Mastruko - frequently posts here) thinks that all minefields are
separate and that UV differentiates every laying of mines as another minefield
(i.e. separate) minefield.

He also thinks that every minefield must be separately discovered and cleared.

IMHO, if that is true, it is very very interesting indeed (and realistic)...

What do you think gentleman?

It is definitely true. Each minefield is tracked, detected, and cleared separately. It is better to put lots of small minefields than one large minefield. That is why my ships that go on mine laying missions always go alone.

MSW should have VP values of 10 times CV's. They are worth solid gold, just loose them all and find out the hard way :D

Hi all,

I think that Oleg is 100% correct here and that this brings very interesting
tactical/strategic advantages...

smaller number of MSW ships...
