Five months after the Niilgaemon Grand Nation had fallen, the Attuk Authority (located well on the other side of the Galaxy) requested that the Zenox honor their Mutual Defense Pact (on 11/10/2220). Upon doing so, 2 days later the Pharus Authority, Banoserit Territory, Narrant Sovereignty, Tainerus Territory and Great Ortain Supremacy declared war on the Zenox. Of those, only the Pharus Authority and Banoserit Territory were within range to be any danger. This shows the state of the economy of the Zenox Ascendancy economy some five years after the onset of this war. Earlier, the two antagonists destroyed several mining stations, colony ships and space ports being constructed in orbit over two colonies and skirmished with Zenox fleets. However, in keeping with the levels of technology of all of the combatants the various fleets had only enough range to reach each enemy's fringe territory, fight for a bit, and then fall back to refueling bases. In this case, the Pharus Authority Caslon gas mining station in the Varacta system was the only refueling base betwen Zenox outer colonies and the two Banoserit enemy capitals. Zenox forces had destroyed the enemy station a few months ago, and Varacta had become the most important system in the war.
