I just want to let you know that I'm still following your AAR.

I believe (although I'm not 100% sure) that the main part of your strategy is to minimize losses of ships/mines/bases as much as possible.
Am I correct ?

Thanks for the tip- especially on the Humans being just Missiles.
About busting that home world- yep, and unfortunately it is going to require me spending even more for more troop transports.

Thanks! As for strategy: well, yes- largely. Zenox racial victory conditions however require me to go for the most controlled Ancient ruins and build the Archives. This war for what I am calling the Core systems (the nearby Banoserit colonies)is unavoidable, however. I'll show you why with the next postings. But after this I will very definitely being playing it peaceful for as long as possible.

This is the Galaxy as I know it at the moment...

There are lots of Desert planets nearby. The Banoserit then are direct competitors for colonies in my part of the Galaxy at this point in time. I have to take them out.

Notice that there are NO Continental planets near my home world, and just a few in the Banoserit empires areas.

I got Terraforming, finally! And the moment of decision at Varacta comes closer.

A couple of people have commented on War Weariness popping back to good as soon as a war is concluded. True, but- being at extreme War Weariness for too long does terrible things to the economy.

The economy is deteriorating more quickly now. The situation is critical.

In what is an extremely hard choice as well as an act of desperation, I decide to scrap two LSPs. This really, really hurts.

2 Battlefleet's 10 heavy cruisers arrive at Varacta.

...and suffer the same fate as 1 Battlefleet. AND I got some more good news. Things are not exactly going as well as hoped.

After 6 solid years of war, and being well behind the curve (too many of my assets are still too far from the fighting front), I decide to sue for peace. My thinking was that the economy simply could not take the strain anymore.

Both empires had approached me for peace about a year and a half earlier.

This happens two months after ending the war. Great, and so much for taking a breather to gather forces and give the economy a break.
