Bug message with v 2-06-11 : plane attack

Post by Gribeauval »

Hi, I have installed the last patch (not the debug version, the other one).
I have played a full scenario.
I have saved the game when the "bug" occured.

I play american and i have a A10 air unit. It has been ordered by my headquarter (not by me) to strike at hex1408.

Select the A10 unit in the OB tree.
You will read : Air strike at 1408 (1320).
Click on the 1320 (time of the attack) and you will get a bug message : you can choose to stop the application, run it, create a report, ...

Best regards.

I tried it last night and could duplicate it too. However I haven't been able to duplicate anywhere else. Even using a different play of the same scenario. I am bumping up to Rob to look at

Also, I cannot duplicate it in other games that I have played. But we are looking into it.

To Gribeauval--I heard back from Rob this morning and wanted to give you an update. He located the bug that caused your crash. It is a very odd situation that caused it and would be very rare (probably why we have never seen it before) so it is a good catch. He is working on a fix now, but added it was going to be tricky.

Rob believes we have a fix for your crash and we are testing it now. Like I said previously, it was a very rare bug and you just happen to hit the right conditions to trigger it. It was a good catch and could have stayed hidden for a long time. Unfortunately, it won't fix the saved scenario file you sent, but it should keep it from happening in future ones. Should be in the next version of the patch.
