RE: Suggestions thread
No problem, that's actually good news as it means no bug. [:)]

RE: Suggestions thread
Any chance of having the zoom level default to the middle zoom for the AI's turns? I do this so I don't miss intercepts and any aerial combat. It seemed that it happened alot on the previous patch and I resorted to changing the zoom upon ending my turn. I don't have that issue at that zoom level anymore.

RE: Suggestions thread
@Bill, may I ask, regarding the Carrier change, if I set the hard and soft attack values to 0 at start, is that it or is there something else involved ? I'm trying to keep things the same when I don't change them [;)]

RE: Suggestions thread
If you want to keep them at zero then yes, do that, but also you'll have to change the benefit Carriers receive from Naval Weaponry.
How to do this is in the section of the Manual entitled Campaign -> Edit Country Data -> Edit Research
The relevant paragraph is a few pages lower, entitled Automatic Increments, but you'll need to go to the path mentioned Campaign -> Edit Country Data -> Edit Research in order for it to make sense.

Is it possible to have a visual indication on the unit counter if it is in sleeping mode or not?
Playing with NATO counter, I have not seen any difference for my sub unit.
Thanks, surprised I missed this and I've just added an indicator on my end for this.

RE: Suggestions thread
I agree with a tool tip on the research items.
RE: Suggestions thread
Game history:
• Poland : Took Warsaw on turn 3
• Netherlands Declared war and attack April 1940, taken May 1940
• Luxemburg Declared war and attack April 1940 Taken April 1940
• Belgium Declared war and attack April 1940 taken May 1940
• France Took Paris in Oct 1940
UI - clarity, what else would you like to see etc:
• Have the program move the map to the area where the new reinforcements are allowed to be placed. It would make more convenient to place new reinforcements.
• Create an option to allow the computer to move whole groups of units/Armys at once from one area to another (e.g. once Germany conquers France; allow the computer to move all of the units towards Russia). It would make it less tedious.
• I like the new titles (Combat Loss Summary, Military Activity Summary and Decision) at the end of each turn. It helps with the flow of the game.
AI behavior:
• French units attacked German air units behind German lines before Paris was taken rather than stay complacent. That was great.
• It does seem like the AI Allied sea units know where the German sea units are more than they should. Often, I get overwhelmed by multiple sea units at once. They seem to know where I am at all time like there is little fog of war.
Thanks
RE: Suggestions thread
Please, please, please make this dot bigger. It is nearly impossible for the eyes/brain to easily pull that out from the graphics in the unit sprite.

The previous image is blown up by 200%. It is much tinier on my screen (see below) and at zoom out level 2 impossible to see.

Thanks for the feedback on this and I've checked through the AI code multiple times and have not been able to find any errors so far in terms of the AI seeing more than it possibly should.
Not saying that there isn't a bug but I am just not certain that there is at the moment.
Food for thought on this however and it may or may not apply to your situation:
1) The Allied AI has its own FLEET movement scripts as it generally doesn't sit idle and currently it does have patterns that it runs in order to increase the likelyhood that it will encounter Axis naval units.
For example it runs a criss cross pattern of Destroyers in the North Sea looking for any Axis subs that may be attempting to escape out to the Atlantic via that route.
It also runs a pattern in the Med that ideally has it running into any Italian Fleet maneuvers.
Beyond that it does run patterns of screening its Transports from the North American east coast to a variety of locations in Europe.
Any one of those could result in combat if some of these Fleet maneuvers encounter Axis naval units.
2) The AI will get reports of Axis raiders on the convoy lanes and will then attempt to move its DDs and now CLs towards those locations looking for any Axis raiders still at those specific locations.
The new AI behaviour enhancements has those DDs and CLs remaining at sea if they don't find anything (and not immediately returning to port) unless their supply drops below 5, and this can result in pockets of anti-raider Allied units throughout the Atlantic.
As a result there could then be multiple responders to a new raider position if those Allied anti-raider pockets are in range.
Let me know if you think any of this applies and we can then go from there as it would be helpful to know more about the specific situations you are finding yourself in when it comes to questionable Allied AI naval behaviour.
Thanks,
Hubert

That's a tricky one as currently it fits well with other unit "mode" dots that appear on a unit once experience goes up beyond 3 and then up to 5. Increasing the size of those dots would result in overlap.
I'll add it to my list of things to look into once I have more time.

When you fire up the game I would add another button as to start the Editor.

For consistency please change Tagus river to Tajo river (in Spain).
And I see you changed all other names I suggested, thanks.

Maybe if the outline is a different color that would help. I'll edit it myself and see if a blue or red outline make it pop a bit more.
RE: Suggestions thread
One of the most tedious parts of the game is when you have to switch forces from Poland to the West, and viceversa from France to the East.
I know you can speed this up with force march and operating the units.
My suggestion is could we have a decision event where for an x amount of mpp where we could select a number of units to be automatically sent to the West in '39 and the East after the fall of France in '40 and '41.
May be this script could be run twice for the deployment of forces to attack Russia.
Of course there would be a delay before they are deployed again.
If this is feasible we would need to determine.
When does the event fire up
How many units can be selected
The cost in mpp
Where are the units going to be redeployed.
I think it would help a lot transferring the German, it would save a lot of clicks and boring turns where you only move units.

RE: Suggestions thread
Two things:
- automated moves (set and endpoint, tell the ai to to fast (forced) or normal, and it will move the units each turn until complete or enemy sighted).
The would be really helpful in naval, in poland-->france, and moving new units, which "spawn" in Germany, to the frontlines. And of course Russia-->france in the late game. Huge playability improvement.
And:
