Quick logic

Post by jpinard »

So far with this off, the AI is pretty darn good in the early campaign. Has anyone tested to see how much of a difference Quick Logic makes? I'm guessing the AI looks at a very limited move sample set with this option on, and therefore I would think it would be quite a bit dumber. But maybe it's just a very limited difference and would still give me the same amount of fight?

But if I switch to it and start winning I may not know if it's simply experience (since I know what to expect in the campaign now) or if it's quick logic mode. So anyone with insight into this I would love to hear. If I can get away with quick logic I might switch to it to get through games faster to check balance and overall AI decision making.

I've only played with it off, so I don't know.

Thanks for the feedback Jeff and glad to hear that the AI is playing well enough [:)]

For the Quick Logic setting this is likely to be removed as an option as it doesn't actually do much right now. The reason for this was that it did indeed try and take some shortcuts to speed things up, at the expense of not necessarily being fully optimized, but most if not all of those routines where it really slowed down have been modified/improved, so I'll likely remove it completely for the final build.

Thank you! Saved me a lot of time trying to compare them :)
