Convoy route change back to previous version

Hi Bill,

At the start of the game Germany is affraid of the Royal Navy so it's advised to move the convoy route.
I have however taken the UK and Ireland, so if that's the case I'd like to get the option to change the convoy routes again for some extra MPP income.
There's no reason for the less profitable route to stay in place.
Would it be possible to script this? [:)]

Hi Louis

I agree in principle and at first I thought this would be easy to do, but thinking further I'm not so sure.

The problem is that we'd not only have to consider the status of the UK and Ireland, but also of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the seas around them, i.e. you wouldn't want the Decision to fire one turn, and for the US navy to arrive off Narvik in the following turn and launch an invasion. There would have to be checks for there being no Allied units in any of those countries, nor sailing around them, and this would require multiple scripts checking all the conditions in order to fire the Decision... then if the situation changed we'd need a way of reverting it back to following the safer route.

I think it's technically possible to do, most things are, but time limitations mean I might have to forego this for now at least.

Thanks for the explanation. As soon as i'm up to speed at scripting again i'll give it a go.

If you do give it a go, I think it would require one or more dummy Decision Events followed by the real one, the reason being that Condition Positions are read individually so each dummy Decision would need to check for no Allied units in a certain radius.
