Do ASL mods affect gameplay?

Post by Grotius »

Hi all. I've played ASL off and on for decades, and I'm thinking about buying the game. I have a couple questions.

1. Do the ASL graphics mods affect gameplay, or are they merely cosmetic? E.g., it seems the default graphics don't display infantry morale. Will the mod conduct a morale check more the way ASL does?

2. Can one install multiple ASL mods? That is, are they cumulative, or mutually exclusive? E.g., ASL with small counters, ASL with vehicle movement data, etc? I want ASL with small counters AND vehicle movement info. :)

Thanks!

Hi Grotius,

Welcome aboard! Tigers on the Hunt game is inspired by ASL ... it is NOT ASL. The only thing you can do is modify the graphics terrain file (Terrain.png) that has all the items you see in the map. The game database is not open to modifications so you cannot add or remove units/objects from the game.

Game mods can be found here: tm.asp?m=4036287

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the game!

Peter what is the reason for mods of units not being allowed?

Adding units/objects is not just about adding them into the database it is also about adding game rules, graphics, AI code etc.
