Tinjaw's First Impressions

Post by tinjaw »

My initial impression was that SC was a modern (in terms of UI design) take on the high level warfare of WWII. It looked good and fresh. It caught my attention and made me want to start clicking around. I did for some time and then decided to look for a tutorial.

I found the tutorial in the manual after some looking. I expected there to be a Big Red Button in the game itself that said "TUTORIAL HERE!". I'm used to having the text on screen and not in a separate manual. But that doesn't mean that there is anything with having it in the manual.

All I have done is go through the tutorial at this point. So far I am impressed and want to play more and learn more about the details. The game *looks* good and although it looked a little intimidating at first, I was confident that it would be easy once I actually RTFM.

The tutorial made sense and I was able to keep up with it. I am now wanting to just play it over and over again and not worry about winning, but just learning how to play it better each time as I learn more about the details.

I did find a few UI bugs (one was even a CTD), but I'll take a look into the database to see what is already logged.

I only spent an hour or so with the game so far. I'll give you my further impressions after I've played with it for a few days.
