First impressions and campaign

Post by Scramble »

I try the campaign on the axis side at the higher level.
At the begining I thought the game hard, but quickly I see it wasn't too difficult. I've played with the same strategy I used in SC2: no diplomacy (I try Spain and Ireland with no effect), maximum research in production and industrial and in september 1944 decisive victory.
Some bugs with return to desktop, but nothing awful.
The game is very good, the events are a very good idea, invasion of Danemark and Norway, arrival of DAK, great.
Maybe some other can be found: invasion of Sweeden, Switzerland with a cost in MPP high enough to avoid a too big disgression with reality.
I've played with Nato Counters, the 3d icons for italians don't appear.
Sorry for bad english.

I made temporary 3d icons for all the countries. Read this thread to get them into your game:

Scramble did you play with FOW on or off? Playing with FOW on makes a huge difference in difficulty and makes the game a lot more fun and challenging (at least for me).

Yes of course, I played with FOW.
3D icons seems very good, I'll try them.

I have been slowly making my way through the campaign (now in October 1941)and have encountered no real tech issues so far. It has played well! One special observation which I have enjoyed immensely: the ability for near all units to move and attack, then move again, as long as the APs are available to it per turn. This allows for hit and run tactics all over the place, and certainly creates many new tactics and strategy not possible before. For this change alone, the game is much more exiting, in my opinion.
