I paid around 80 dollars for this game and still waiting for the patch to fix the pilot bug.[:(]

WitP has pretty much supplanted by WitP AE which has a much more sophisticated pilot management system.

There were plans for a patch after the release of Admiral's Edition, but it seems once the developers started work on Admiral's Edition they lost interest in the original.

True, that's what I remember and as to why I'm still waiting for the patch. Kinda hoping someone will see this post and remember also.

The pilot bug isn't ever going to get fixed as WITP is an old game. The problem, if I remember, was that there were only 50K slots for pilots. That's not to many for both side when you consider KIAs and WIA along with active. In my last game we tried to keep air units from being overstaffed, but still got bitten by the bug. It hurts the Japanese player much worse than the Allied side due to pilot training programs.
