Post by spec111 »

Hello. This is just OOB from my USSR 2.0 series. It is not playable at this point and made just for fun.

This is an answer! [&o]

p.s.
I just added Dream RF OOB. What if today russian army had all its equipment in her European part (before Ural mountains). Have fun.

Nukeraine. That's a good one. [:D]

So this is Ukraine that has no dream of being a neutral country.

In 1992 Ukraine was the third nuclear power in the world, but by 1996, with the signature of the Lisbon Protocol in which the country agreed to give up all nuclear weapons to Russia, the country became free of nuclear weapons.
This is a interesting scenario in which Ukraine never surrender their nuclear weapons.

The "Brigades" of both sides are just too big for brigade-sized units.
A Russian mechanized (motorized rifle) brigade should be composed of 41 tanks, however in the scenario there are 140.
Things are the same for the Ukrainian Army brigades which should be highly resemble to their Russian components.
Strangely, a Russian "brigade" is composing of several "brigades".

I also think that the brigades are too Big.

For example a currently russian Motor Rifle Brigade translating into toaw numbers has:
1 Command Company
1 Recon Company (4 BRM, 6 BMP)
1 Tank Battalion (41 Tanks)
3 Motor Rifle Battalions (approximately each battalion has 37 BMP/BTR/MT-LB, 6 120mm Mortars, 6 Auto Grenade Launcher, 6 ATGM)
2 SP howitzer battalions (each battalion has 18 2S3/2S1/2S19 SP Guns
1 Rocket launcher battalion (18 BM-21)
1 Antitank Battalion (6 100mm AT Gun, 12 AT-5/AT-6 SP ATGM)
1 Air defence battalion (6 2S6, 6 SA-13, 27 SA-14)
1 Engineer Battalion

The russian armor Brigade is the same, but, with 3 Tank Battallions and only 1 Motor Rifle Battalion

Ukranian armored brigade has: 3 Tank Battalions, 1 SP howitzer battalion, 1 Air defence battalion, 1 Engineer Battalion
Ukranian motorized brigade has: 1 Tank Battalion, 3 Motorized Battalions, 1 SP howitzer battalion, 1 Antitank Battalion, 1 Air defence battalion, 1 Engineer Battalion

Yes, yes, guys. But i doesnt portray modern RF brigade (that are hugely criticized both by military, press and military fans) and use very interesting mix of late Soviet era corps (4-6 Ind Bde's, 4-6 Ind Bn's), ideas of downsized divisions\large brigades (which was debated in late 90's-early 2000's in russian military press), and mix of US AOE and Soviet Ind Bn's structure (4 mixed coys in BN).
