Sorry - was close to failing a morale check but I can laugh at it now.
I wasn't close to that because I know that I have a partner that will save my behind from being fried.

Although I must confess that I was annoyed.

But I can laugh about it now. [:D]

It will be interesting how the Axis react to this. Although ending the turn was useful, in reality it came too late to really affect things.

I guess if they continue with good weather they will adopt the same tactic and try and remove Gibraltar over two impulses. If the weather is not Fine then perhaps they will go straight in with an Offensive Chit?

Do you think we can keep enough shipping (for shore bombardment purposes) at sea in case they get first impulse?

I think they will continue with the same strategy. Trying to get pluses on the attack and wear the defenders down.

I won't be on line for much of today - not sure if the intention is to move the game along, but if it is you have my Soviet orders.

Ormster - are you comfortable with the amount of TRS and AMPH for the CW?

I am not sure I understand the question. Below is a picture with all the available sea lift.

I would like more sea lift with CW but with the latest addition I think I have enough to get the job done. Albeit a bit slower than I would like and not enough reserves.

Perhaps I should have put more emphasis on AMPH in the question?

Yes, I am perfectly happy with the AMPH situation. I consider AMPH a luxury that CW can not afford before either USSR or USA has entered (or close to entering) the war.

Right you are - so long as Admiral Lord Ormster is relaxed and in control, then the forces of Democracy everywhere can sleep easy in their beds [:)]

Realistically when do you see the US as entering?
Now I predict US entering late 1941 or early 1942.

Edit: US already has the ability to DOW albeit low.

If they play an Offensive Chit during a Rain impulse I would say that the Axis is starting to feel the time pressure of wanting to turn east. Their spending on NAVs is good news for Russia, which they will still ultimately attack (no Axis naval transport builds); but bad news for the Atlantic theater. Losing Gibraltar also likely gains an USE chit, though 1940 chits are worth the least. But continuing to fight like Churchill at Tangiers and Bilbao will keep the brakes on them. The spending on SYNTHs is also good news for the Allied position for a while.

My two cents is that I think the Axis are falling behind. The CW may be paying a terrible price in blood, but the Axis are not attempting to make them pay for it in other areas like Africa/Egypt. The Japanese don't appear to be very effective in China either. In the mean time, the clock is ticking and it appears an early US entry is going to spoil the Axis party.

The weather is now iffy and the Axis have left themselves open to depending on more luck in terms of weather and making very low odds attacks against Gibraltar. The fact is, they may not take it anytime soon as long as the CW is willing to feed the grinder. If their O-Chit miscarries, they are going to be in real trouble long term I think.

My main worry is that I accidently emptied Cape St Vincent of surface combat ships. There is now a opportunity for them to put Gibraltar OOS.

Don't worry about it - with our luck at sea at the moment you could have put the whole fleet there and we would still have been chucked out and out of supply.....

I am mostly annoyed that with at least one SCS the German fleet would have been in one box lower. [:@]
