Carpal tunnel and the right click menu

We'd had a discussion a month or two ago discussing the need to have less repetitive (left clicking, right clicking, panning up a menu etc) options for each unit when selecting upgrades and reinforcements. My mind is a bit in tatters, so I was wondering if the streamlining had gone into effect? I see a right click action option in advanced settings but I can't figure out if it does anything, and also if it was there in the 1.07 build (two builds ago).
