Desperate times..... Managed a counter attack with my few tanks (if that's what you call them!) Got a kill and a hvy damage on two in the North and manged to bail the crew of one in the center. The Spaniards are holding....barely. The Spaniards hunker down under the relentless arty as another salvo comes crashing in..........

Tanks or no tanks, those 20mm autocannon are nasty!

My Romanians are really starting to live up to their bad rep, as crews flee their vehicles to left and right at the slightest hint of enemy activity. :rolleyes: We hit nothin.

105's comes in to save the day, including a brilliant shelling of our hard pressed bikers. :p

Killed another tank in the north but it cost a valuable ATR team in the process.

Trying to rally troops in the South for the assault that I know is coming.

The center is the same thing....rally...arty....cower...rally.....it's an endless circle in the center!

The sucking continueth at a scale never seen to date. :rolleyes: We manage to drive the odd Legion squad away, but then it's a stop. And OFCOURSE does the Spaniards manage to wake their 149mm arty again!

HOW do you do that?!!!!

In the north, the Spanish have a 10-2 tank kill ratio.

Let's just say I wouldn't touch the Romanian army with a 10-foot pole hereafter...

Well the Spaniards aren't the greatest either...

Up north my MG team got pushed back...AFTER it fired at an Inf squad while sitting in the defense and took casulaties while it couldn't kill anyone!!! A tank had a gun malfunction while trying to support the MG team! sheesh!

Killed a tank in the center and trying to pin the other.

Horsey squad killed a tank with molotovs! Also killed a MC squad.

Do I need to mention I'm trying to rally my troops??

So you should play the Romanians more often, just to show everyone how good you are

The few units that could be rallied tries to make some progress, but gets cut down immediately as the apparently forget that the enemy is still there. :rolleyes: (read: I lose sight of all units every turn.)

We kill a tank and a car but lose a tank of our own. The rest of the the Might that is the Romanian Army is lying face down in the snow, crying for Mommy with funny stains on their uniform pants.

We still got cool helmets, though!

More 149mm rain, this time in the center. I must be parked on his Golden Targets.... :p

Man!

Damaged one of your tanks in the north and managed to beat up a few squads as well while only being slightly "rattled" in return.

Killed a MC squad in center with no loss! Yahoo!

Down South it's still quiet....but I imagine that will end soon enough......

While the forum was down, we have finished the game.

The last three turns sees Spanish on the offensive, as they with the help of their ever-present heavy artillery rout Romanian advance both south and north.

The Romanians, although presented with plenty of target opportunities, are too scared/sucky to fire straight. A few NS infantry squads are routed but that's about it, while the Spanish shoot up half of our remaining armor and rout the rest. In the very final artillery barrage, the Spanish kills a Lt.35 with a 149mm shell through the side (?).

Game ends in an expected draw: NS 4072 - RO 3482.

Short analysis: The artillery really saved the day for the Spanish, as they were able to hold up a murderous bombardment throughout the game. As a comparison, the Romanian 105mm all still have between 10 and 30 shells left after 23 turns....tells something about availability. :p My bikers were able to hold on to the center VHs all through the game, despite being routed again and again. My biggest mistake was, perhaps, that I didn't commit the bulk of my infantry. I still had about a company left in the rear area, but I don't know if they could have made a difference.

Great game! I'm just lucky my arty was available as often as it was.....I was nearly out of ammo in my 149mm batteries

My biggest problem was in the purchase screen! 90% of my armor was unavailable! I was stuck with BA-6's and I only bought 8 before they were unavailable! Sheesh! then I finished out with some Panzer 1's and some that had 20mm's on them instead of MG's. I finished out my armor defense by getting ATR teams...glad I did as they managed to prove thier worth this turn.

I still had a company and a half in the south but no support for them to make an advance so I had them dig in and hold the southern VH's. A few more turns and might have been able to gain some ground.

Both sides suffered from poor morale and rally and in my case experience...my tankers and ATR teams were mostly green and thier accuracy showed. I think the Rumainians were better fighters but we had better arty! (grin!)

Once again fun game! Password was usmc.
