The Hard Part

Post by mogami »

The hard part (IJN 200 percent USN 100 percent) is past. While there are still dangers lurking out there. The allies have at least achived a measure of safety (and a 1500 point lead) .
Now I can become cautious I need to move to New Guinea, and the war is won. Over 200 turns remain. I've sent many ships back to Pearl early on that are now returning with AA upgrades (and experiance gained while on map prior to departing)
Transports are coming in good numbers (LST) It was a hard battle. Now I am beginning to believe that of the 10 Scenario 19's 200 percent IJN 100 percent USN I began. Only the first, (Arto) will be lost. (But I will say this set up can make the allied player dispair for quite a long time)

Scen 19

Post by mogami »

Hi, I have to admit I lost another one of these scenario 19's Bosun captured Brisbane on 26 Nov 42 (with over 100k Japs)
The USN has to prevent landings. If the IJN can get the troops ashore he wins his auto victory. (3 bases in Austraila not enough allied troops to defeat 100k Japs in all three.) The Japanese just need to do their homework, and wait and time the landings for late Nov early Dec. But any time the Japanese can capture the base after Jan 43 they win the following turn. It's just much harder because so many allied units begin appearing.

And Dadman has surrendered. A very interesting and enjoyable game. Dadman is fun to exchange thoughts with via e-mail during the game.

Thank you Mogami. You have been a most durable opponent.

Once you caught me with my CV's in Rabaul, and then Haruna and Hiryu were lost due to action, there was nothing left that I could oppose you with, as ships were not being release back from Japan.

We'll have to do this again, but I'll need to map out a master plan so that I can last beyond July '43.

Quite an exciting finish guys, but once the allied steamroller gets going there's no stopping it.
