Can't load autosaves

Post by pinky »

So I just started diving into this monster of game (and its awesome) but I've hit a snag, I can't load autosaves - 1) they dont show up in the list of saves (but I found the autosave folder and copied them over), and once they show up I get a 'failed to load' blurb [:(] The autosave folder was originally read-only but I turned that off. Any ideas?

Hi, and welcome. I have never used autosaves for loading games - I am not sure they are meant to be used this way. Always save your game in a different slot than autosave slot and load the game from your own save.

There are two game-generated saves - the Pre-Turn save which happens just before the game executes the turn (Slot 002 I think) and the AutoSave that occurs at the end of the turn execution.

I cannot say why you cannot load the Autosave unless you tried to save one of your own files to that slot and spoiled the AutoSave.

The AutoSave and Pre-Turn save are your insurance in case something goes amiss and your own game turn save gets messed up. You can restart your current turn by loading either one, but you will have to let the game execute the pre-turn save again to get to your current turn.
