Sea Control Patrol

Post by User1984 »

Can someone please explain the Sea Control Patrol Mission?

I have searched the Manual that came with the game, the Forums, and the online Manual Addendum, but
was unsuccessful in finding any information on this type of Mission.

Can the Manual Addendum please be made available in PDF format so that it is easier to search?

Also, how does one search an online forum for a term such as (sea control patrol)?

I think it is a general mission you can give to a multi purpose ship or battle group when you don't know exactly what you may be up against or know you will be facing multiple unit types. Basically its a mission to patrol against all unit types that can be engaged to control the sea

Sea control is to actively hunt and attack both subs and surface contacts. Most useful for submarines, ships and MPAs.

As for searching, in the bottom right corner of the forum there is a search field. However, I have little luck with it.

Much better results are had with Google; to search a specific site in Google type in, for example:
site:matrixgames.com ''sea control'

It's not perfect on that it searches all forums on the site, not just CMANO, but it's a useful search tool in general [:)]

Hi,
When I assign sub for Sea Control mission - it freeze after some time, always during battery charging. It simply stop, and stays there forever... Is it some bug?

Hard to tell without a save; could be any number of things.

If you can post a save game (in a zip file) showing the situation in the tech support forum someone should be able to help.

Is it some bug?

It might be, or it might be a doctrine or some other setting. Not sure.

Best to post it to the tech forum with a save game, it will either get added to the fix list or you'll get an idea of what you may have set up improperly.

Apache85,

Great tip about Google. Used the search engine for years but did not know about the site:XXX 'YYY' search ability. Thank you very much.

The search button on the top menu works relatively well. You can search by a few different parameters on a specific forum.

Might I also suggest before diving straight in and then asking questions, go through some of the stuff in this thread...

From the Manual Addendum:

http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=2711

"New patrol type: Sea Control. This type effectively combines the targeting criteria of the ASuW-Naval and ASW patrol. Units assigned to this patrol type will target anything on the sea surface and below it."
