SPWAW vs Mega Campaign

Post by bill_k »

Will I have to remove the present SPWAW that is on our hard drive when I install the Mega Campaign. I have a bunch of PBEM games going on and would hate to lose them.
Thanks,
Bill

You will need to install SP:WaW v5, but you will be able to carry on your pbem games. You should coordinate your upgrade to v5 with your opponants though.

I plan to keep both versions on my harddrive for a while. I will re-name the version 4.5 directory by inserting a 1 at the beginning of the folder name and then update my shortcut to point to it. Then when I install version 5 it will not write over it.

Hope this helps

Actually it maybe better to rename v5.0 during installation. If you changes the directory name of already installed programs, the computer tends to get really confused when it comes to uninstall it again.

Good point Inp4668. You saved me from going through a re-naming tap dance when it came time to remove 4.5. Thanks ;)

This same thing is with your long campaings that have been going on too long: There will most likely be OOB -errors, IE you got ODD halfie there where it says 34MG. These are quite easy to update to correct ones. In pbems these are updated by doing update in same turn.?
