a good custom map to meet on

Post by Jamminji »

Hi everyone... first thanks for all the help! I now understand how to find maps and download/load them.

Now for a quick question; There are over 150 maps that come with sp-waw. I am looking to play a 2500-3000 point per side meeting engagment. Anyone have a suggestion on a map that would be good for this. One that comes with the game. Not a downloaded custom map but one of those 150 that come with the game. That way I do not have to go through the learning curve helping the other guy with downloading etc right now.

btw i did download the hill 112 map by WB... very cool!

I'm partial to the Eastern Europe/Western Europe set (created by WBW if I'm not mistaken.)

Lot's of interesting terrain to hide in. ;)

I appreciate your help... I was hoping for an actual name or number, so as to be able to actually see the map someone likes. I guess that might be hard because people change the names/slot #s. But thanks anyway for the idea.

I've played most of my pbem games with the Falaise-Hill x map. It's really good. Enough cover for infantry to be useful, enough open terrain so the tanks can do some damage.

Jamminji,
Look in the map folder of Spwaw. Most of the maps have a txt file (Pzmap000.txt) included which give some info about it. This might help you find one you would be interested in without having to load them all in the editor to see what they look like.
Good luck, :)

All of the Stalingrad maps, especially the Tractor factory... really gives you an idea of how house to house/street to street fighting works and how devastating concentrated artillery is.
