As a pure "Jeezus I may have been haxoored" you can go into Control Panel/System Protection, and try to restore from your previous load. Only do this while disconnected from your LAN. If that fixes it, run every AV option you can find before reconnecting the LAN cable.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Yay! I fixed the yellow oscillating line. That probably has nothing to do with the other graphics hardware thing, though.

RE: OT Things to ponder
Can we please get this thread back on topic: witchy women, etc.
brunettes

redheads

preppy-Goth brunettes . . .

ADDIT:
blondes
Edit: A bit too graphic...
And if that is over-the top for this sub-forum then yes, we should all agree to a mutual banishment of this thread to the Australian Beauties thread (and potentially a rename of that thread to "Wang Dang Sweet Femme Thang"

The lady person with the Totty Tatto is the same lady person as Makee Learn posted up above with the bodagious Tah Tahs . . . Marina Sirtis:
I am amazed at how women can change their looks. Witchy.

Read this again and do what he says!ORIGINAL: Lecivius
Before resetting drivers or messing with the OS,
1) Disconnect your LAN cable
2) Reboot into a 'clean' OS. Does the problem persist?
3) CNTRL-ALT-Delete, check to make sure no applications other than Task Manager are running. If so, you have been had...
4) If not, go to Applications, ensure only system applications and applications under your login are running
5) Keep an eye on Network to ensure no application keeps trying to go active. If so, you have been had.
6) You are disconnected fron the LAN, so disable your AV program. Does that help?
From here on, it can get a little complicated [:(]
For after when you get things straightened out...
• There is no conflict known between browsers, so don't bother uninstalling one (like Chrome).
• IE has horrible security issues. If you must use it use only the latest version. But there is no reason for you to use it. Use Chrome. Use Firefox. BUT STOP USING IE.
• Stop using Adobe Flash. Flash has security problems even worse than IE. Disable plug-ins in your browser, then turn them on only site by site, and turn on Flash for almost no sites at all! Many "ads" are not sincere ads, they are altered to probe your Flash software and inject malware onto your PC when they find a vulnerability. This also done with/to videos that are not ads. HTML 5 is what vendors should be using. My rule is "if your video is running in Flash, then I don't need to see your video".
• Don't run Adobe Flash.
• Don't run IE.
• Don't open any PDF unless you are very confidant that it is not infected (who you got it from, you expected it, etc.).
Clear enough?
I had a friend get hit with a crypto virus earlier this year. You do not want that.

RE: OT Things to ponder
He's says it gets complicated after that? I'm just a poor gorn. I downloaded "FreeFixer" but it didn't simplify much and I was too scared to "fix" anything. My cat is "fixed" and he doesn't like it.
OK, I recently turned off the Active-X filter because Adobe told me to. I guess I'll turn that back on. Google Chrome. Things take a long time to percolate through my cold-blooded lizard brain but I'll start percolating. Guess I'll have to rejigger my home page. MS is trying to upgrade me to a new version of Office that requires a subscription. How kind of them. Maybe I'll get some of that "Harry's" razor subscription while I'm at it. How about I get a subscription for TP so I never need leave the house?

Many of those things that claim to fix your computer ARE malware and it is possible that you allowed in additional trouble. [:(]ORIGINAL: geofflambert

I hear that! I have EVERYTHING I prize copied to my backup drive (2 terabytes...yeah, that should be enough). If I ever do something stupid & get blocked, just replace the HD & viola, back in business in @ a day. Another good tip is to RAID your HD, setting the OS to run on C:/, and everything else on another drive. Almost all hacks are set to affect the C drive, you can usually get away with this little trick if you do get haxoored.
Ping me if you need Gornlet. I get off in a few hours, I can call you & we can go through some stuff if needed.

Good! That's not fool proof, but it's a good start.
Even if this turns out to be a technical "glitch" instead of malware, DO take that advice we are all giving you about malware and you will improve your chances. [:)]

I know a man whose name begins with T doesn't think she could be a 10. To paraphrase Alec Baldwin "WRONG". I know it may disturb some of you and we can't talk about it here, but I'm an A (as in non) something but I still have the right to say that God doesn't make those things in a wrong size. All sizes are right. Remember the answer to everything is BOOBs.
I have a remote drive box but the drive in it was corrupted and there isn't much usable space on it. I'll have to get another drive to put in it, one or two terabytes I suppose. I don't have much backed up at the moment.
