I have not been able to find a concise list of what, exactly, the various story optins add to the game. Is there one?

From my internal, not quite reliable, data banks:

Shadows story: Starts pre-warp and has some events with discover hyperdrive, etc. Is not a big deal, I think maybe all pre-warp starts has that.

Return of the Shakturi: Adds the Shakturi storyline, including Ancient Guardians.

Original Story: Uncover the galaxy's past in some info caches, extra tech is obtained that way too. Adds some debris fields of ships of more of less planetary destruction potential to be discovered.

I have a huge preference for not touching the latter two. No Shakturi since I dislike the enforced story, I like a pure galaxy simulation.

And no original story since I dislike the debris fields of ships to repair.
