Air Intercept - RTB: Mission over. Why?

Post by gregor40 »

I set u a simple mission. Two aircrafts at each side (Russia and Poland). I assign the Polish side (F-16 with AMRAAMS, full tanks) an air intercept mission on the Russian bogeys (I set the mission targets to the bogeys). I keep all the mission settings default. I change the mission doctrine->withdraw to all ignore.

The assigned aircrafts get immediately status: "RTB (Mission over) without trying to engage. Why is that?

Ok, I have solved it. That were two separate problems.

First, in the Brexit scenario (playing NATO side) I have observed that my Estonian forces are RTB from an air intercept mission. The problem there was that there ALLREADY was an air intercept mission set up by the scenario designer. So when I set up ANOTHER air intercept mission for the same assets they had two conflicting missions - one with targets on the list and another with an empty list.

Second, when I tried to reproduce in the editor I was using Gods Eye View. So I did put targets that were not observable for the side that got the mission.

Unfortunately, I have mistaken these two issues as one. Now, the problem seems to be solved. Lesson leaned, I will attach saves to subsequent questions. Thank you!
