Hello Rico!

Real life is... those annoying things you must pay attention to (work, family) instead of spending your time in some rewarding intellectual activity, such as devising some clever tactics to consistently kill Panthers using Stuarts or T-70s [:D].

Yes, you can... if you are looking for a few exciting last moments before you are blasted out of existence.

I once managed to kill a Panther in a game of "Defending Meximieux" with a very close (1-hex) rear shot (the Panther had to rotate its turret 180° and missed the Stuart); I suppose showing the Panther a juicy target to distract its crew might also work (against the IA, of course [:D]).

Killing a panther with a stuart :

-You stay the most fortunate player of Toth [&o]

-I will report this bug to peter [:(]

It's not a bug, it's a feature! The Panther was a fine tank, but if you manage to flank it and survive (the latter is the difficult part [:D]) and hit the sides or rear is not especially tough to kill.

As regards to luck, a few days ago I was playing Scenario 007 - Defensive positions at Outreau with the British and the Tommies got extremely lucky, winning the scenario in a single Defensive Fire phase: first, the 2pdr AT guns killed all the supporting Panzers, then British B** leader on the hill fired eight (8) consecutive shots with the HMG, breaking the German attack single-handedly.

I played the scenario a second time: both AT guns malfunctioned in the first Defensive Fire phase and the Germans overran my forces.

This is one of the reasons I love this game so much: everything can - and does - happen [:)].

The reason I love the game ?
Every scenario , I plan , I study , I walk on to the field of battle with confidence .
A slight swagger in my step , I know I have beaten them before they even arrive :)

Wait a minute, was this rico21s Panther? If yes, then if I was commanding officer I would revoke his tank driver license and send back to infantry! ;) Poor panther ...

Then after a few turns ? , OOC , the HMG breaks , the CC fails :)
The plan is out the door on the second turn :)

UP844 said :"I was playing the next-to-last turn of "A Grim Reminder" when a Russian infantry stack fired on a CE Panther: the LMG kept its ROF, but after a dozen times it fired, I noticed the game entered in a loop, endlessly performing the fire routine. "

"a dozen times it fired"[&o]

Caramba, when a second times I' m happy then a dozen : I'll never play against you.

For once, I was playing with the Mechanized Teutonic Knights instead of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army: the AI fired like a Terminator on steroids, not me.

I don't feel especially lucky: in the same game, another Panther was standing on the top of a hill with three T-34/76 approaching. I was sure I was going to emulate Barkmann, then the MA broke as soon as I fired. Scratch a Panther [:(].
