AXIS AI vs Human - UK in 1940/41 Comments

Post by EdwinP »

France has fallen to the Axis AI and almost all UK troops and air units have been sent to Egypt to defeat the Axis in North Africa. I know that the AI will not invade the UK if there are 2 units around London or there are naval units close to London.

It would make for a more interesting game if the AI would occasionally GV 3[1,20] make preparations for a Sea Lion, and execute it if the UK is largely undefended. Don't just target London - threaten the other port cities on the Southern UK coast too - such as Portsmouth. If I get into the habit of leaving the UK largely undefended, the AI should occasionally surprise me by launching a Sea Lion.

Use the parachute units to take an undefended port city or have 2 airborne units attack a single port city guarded by a garrison unit - that would be a surprise, send the navy to the channel to guard the transports. If GV 3[1,20} is being considered then build more subs and research Amphibious, submarine warfare and jets.

If an airborne unit seizes a port city, that city should be rapidly reinforced.

If the UK player does not garrison the southern port cities he should be occasionally (1 in 5 games to 1 in 4 games) surprised by the AI.
