Commander Playing a Card issue(s)

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Commander Playing a Card issue(s)

Post by carll11 »

When I try and play the 'Attack' card-

"take charge of a unit and drive it forward in a spirited offensive"

it highlights the 'play card' choice , lets me select it , lets me highlight a unit is says I can play the card, it lets me play the card on the unit....gives me a message that says roughly; 'your units will gain so and so % in attack' but when I check the unit NO Percentage shows up in/for the selected units, as if I never played the card at all.

On the other hand, when I play the Speed card on the same unit;

"take charge of a unit and drive it forward"

I go through all the same steps and, it works, the % shows up in the Unit information area.....why does one work all the way and the other doesn't?

Hi,

What scenario, what game version?

Are you sure? it should show red blocks with a percentage number on top of your troops shown in the unit troops tab.

Best wishes,
Vic

Hi Vic...I am playing Uranus, long and the game version is h106 2......

as I noted when playing the speed card yes, it does but when I try the attack card, no, it doesn't.

Also as a bonus question on another issue? ;)

I am tinkering wiht short case blue, in edit with free set up on, I used home to choose a unit and added it to the map, but have changed my mind, is there a way to delete it?

Thx again!

Let me triple check in case i am erring.

But just to be clear: which unit is playing the card? which unit is receiving?

Does the text message say you receive a bonus? or does it say 0%?

Is the target unit within HQ Power range of the HQ playing the card?

Best,
Vic

The Parent 'Corp' is playing the card for one of its units, I have tried it on an inf. div. and a Pzr. div. Yes, it has shown me a % , last time I thunk it was 22% in that example.

The HQ Power range, that sounds interesting, I have looked at HQ Power in the manual pages 22 and 30, but I don't see a 'power range number' noted an where? How do I find that?

Its probably easiest if you mail a savefile to vic@vrdesigns.net a note which corp and which unit in it. I'll check if there is a real bug or a misunderstanding going on.
