SoPac Command HQ is mostly unloaded. The size 3 port is 100% damaged so everything happens slowly. Tonight the first transport convoy with support units will arrive, but after daybreak an amphibious convoy with support units - some engineers and some port types - will arrive and should help speed up unloading and repairs. All of the known mine fields have been cleared from Kochi harbor. There were some night combats again, some night air raids, and plenty of daytime air raids. Bloody submarines!

I don't know for certain, but it should help. Naval support and shore party abstract things like lighters and small craft IIRC. But even after the port gets repaired the engineers along are needed. Virtually all the engineers are marching away to the next targets.

Our subs are conducting secret activities.

We have a number of warships heading into the yard for repairs and some for upgrades. There are lots of destroyers still to upgrade and I want to keep at least some upgrades rolling along. The needed repairs are already enough to make it prudent to not form convoys for Kumamoto just yet. Luckily there were few attack transports damaged badly enough to require repairs in the Kochi invasion, so allowing several days for many of the warship repairs and upgrades to get underway should be sufficient. That will also allow time for the air bases at Kochi, Tokara Retto, and Yakushima to build and be more of a factor when the Kumamoto invasion lands. We will also move PacAO from Daito Shoto to Yakushima where it will be much closer to assist the invasion it is prepared for. The airborne units ready for the Saishu To assault are being moved to Hangchow, where the airfield complex is being rapidly expanded to accommodate the mission.
