air transport capacity

I am a little bit lost in what the supply transport capacity for transport planes are, capacity translated in supply points transported..

Suppose a transporter has a capacity of 3000, does that mean 3 supply points are transported by that plane?

In ideal circumstances I think 3 points

but normally less, due to range, etc

1-3999 = 1 supply point
4000-5999 = 2 supply points
6000-7999 = 3 supply points
8000-9999= 4 supply
10,000-11,999 = 5 supply
12,000-13,999 = 6 supply
etc.
