The Ladykillers (1955) - great acting cast and British comedy, to boot!

My personal ranking (definitely cold war biased):
1. Dr. Strangelove
2. Fail Safe
3. The Spy Who Came In From The Cold
4. Young Frankenstein
5. Seven Days in May

Nice list, but they missed The Longest Day. Unacceptable.

The Third Man, Schindlers List (yes a cheat but still black and white), Raging Bull (another cheat), Lady Killers (think it was B&W), Paths of Glory (battle scene was well ahead of it's time you can see Saving Private Ryan beach scene), The Apartment, Repulsion... my mind has gone blank but I've seen some superb B&W films..
