Started 1944 Campaign with Hot Seat. Game started with Allied turn showing units spotted with intelligence, in the middle of this sequence the game crashed:

RE: SetupRelease-v100 observations
I noticed that in the 1944 D-Day Campaign that there are no Allied Mulberry units on the map.
From my experience with the Editor, I know that Mulberry Port units do exist and could be added to this Campaign.
This would help the Allied sea supply until Cherbourg or Calais can be captured and repaired, as was the historical case.

Will the research GUI still have N/A rows? It just looks incomplete.
RE: SetupRelease-v100 observations
Started the 1944 campaign (axis side,xp. lvl)
Allied carriers are very tough, taking only one damage from CA attacks - maybe they are too tough?
One allied carrier moved next to the west frisian Islands, making it a juicy target. Maybe the carriers shouldn'n move near the German bay.
Allied D-Day HQs stayed at the front line, which allowed me to destroy them the 2nd turn after the landing.
On the first allied turn the AI strat. bombed Pescara, even though the town was empty, and two allied units were standing right next to it (the AI weakend itself by this, as the allied units marched into the damaged, empty town the very same turn.
Game runs smooth without any problems so far (July 5th 1944)
A Russian Rocket Artillery moved and shot after the move - is this intended?

The slot exists, but the unit type doesn't actually exist yet in game.

Yes, those are research categories that aren't applicable to the relevant nation, so for instance no one apart from Germany can research Rockets, so for everyone else the category appears as N/A.

I should add that this is a tricky one as there are some categories that indeed don't apply at all for this game, and then we have categories that apply for some and not others as Bill described in his response.
However, one thing I think we can do is adjust the list of research categories to only show what is applicable no matter what the situation is (as I described above) and something I'll look into amending post release.
The only potential drawback is that the slots for each category might then differ if we shorten the list for one country, and lengthen for another.

For the Allied HQs, I've seen this problem where depending on how the landings go, they either end up in a pocket behind the initial Corps, Army landings, or they end up in front. I'll see if I can tweak the landings to have them more consistently end up in a pocket as that is obviously much more ideal for them.
I've adjusted the AI strat bombing so that should be improved for the future and should no longer attack if there are no enemy units in the resource and it is capturable at the same time.
For the Rockets, it looks like all artillery can now move at least 1 hex after firing, so I guess this is intended and I seem to remember making this change, but I'll be honest I don't remember the full details of why or when at the moment, but likely to improve playability a bit with these units.

RE: SetupRelease-v100 observations
The good news is that the Allies could afford to loose the two HQs, they kicked their way into Fortress Europe even without them.

In the russian South I was able to achieve some success against the russians, even though it wasn't enough to change the big picture on the eastern front.
I would like to suggest to let the Fins offer peace talk / surrender once the russians have made some progress while the germans wither aways.
Rocket artillery fired and moved, not the other way round. In principle I have nothing against it, even though I think this was changed during the eary beta phase (no shooting once the artillery moved).

Hi Hubert,
When I did a repair of my existing Acrobat Reader application, I now get the manual loaded when I click on the Manual button. Thanks

Hi Hubert,
My NVidia GeForce drivers were a few months old. I just updated them. I will advise if I get a similar crash again. Thanks.

Hi Bill, do you and Hubert have any plans to implement this special unit type in the future? I imagine that these would move to a coastal hex, then either provide supply as is, or convert to a Mulberry Harbour supply source. These units could be attacked by land, sea or air, and be damaged by storms (as happened historically).
RE: SetupRelease-v100 observations
I'm still in the same 1944 campaign game. I've started to wonder how it was possible to hold so well against the Russians and Western Allies.
So I've switched sides.
The USSR had 10.000 MPPs cash (unused) and blockaded itself in the middle of the Eastern Front, while the Allies had not that many units at all, and no large cash reserves.
But the USA has laid on an enormous fleet build program.
You may want to order the AI to abandon all large fleet purchases during the 1944 campaign, while the Russian AI need to understand that it has to move to win the game.
And the western Allies need to get a clue about the Russian cash situation, and therefor stop or slow down Lend Lease towards the USSR (in my case the convoys toward Russia were on maximum level)

Hi Doug
The slot was created with this in mind but it's not made it to this release.

I've been playing the same scenario a little, on normal difficulty and I destroyed five Allied HQs in Normandy, but it has only slowed their advance, not halted it.
I also had successes in Bessarabia and southern Poland like you did, but the Red Army is steamrolling forward elsewhere, they are impossible to stop.
There is a German Decision to attempt to keep Finland in the war, if you say no to that when it fires then you'll lose Finland as an ally.
