$20.00 shipping???

Post by Jim D Burns »

Went to buy the boxed version of Strategic command and they want 20 bucks to ship the boxed version. I get over 100 pounds of dog food shipped to me each month for free but a less than half pound cd in a plastic case costs 20 dollars?

I don't recall shipping ever costing this much. Will other methods of shipping (priority mail is only option available right now) eventually be added or are you trying to force customers to go digital only or something?

For some reason the cost of shipping the boxes jumps massively when we get to a hard back book for international shipments. Where are you based? We're looking to set up a European warehouse to solve the problem but US shipping charges are incredibly high for some reason. We'd love it to be less :(

One option is to wait till its stocked in Amazon. We'll send it to them next week and then order from them for cheap/free delivery.

I'm in California. Looks like I'll have to wait for Amazon then since currently getting the boxed version plus shipping basically doubles the price of the game. Grrr hate to wait though lol, really been looking forward to this game.

when you order, you only have to wait for the box to arrive, the game will be digital as well as so can be played straight away, so buying boxed you get the dvd/cd-rom plus manual and a digital download version, so no waiting needed you can play straight away, just wait for the box and manual to come by post[;)]

It's the 20 dollar shipping price I'm trying to avoid, so ordering it now adds the 20 bucks. Amazon will apparently reduce shipping to a more reasonable price, at least I think that's what Iain was saying.

The real fact for me if I can't afford the shipping, I couldn't afford the game. The ideal of a great manual is likely going to be really cool.

But I suspect you will be long since past the first normal patches before I get the pleasure of even considering a purchase. Just the way my life is right now. There's a good chance if I bug my boyfriend now I might get it in March for my birthday :)
