Forcing AI-Side Escorts to refuel

I am trying to get some AI-side strike escorts to refuel before a long escort mission...even though they don't need to refuel yet.

Is there a way using Lua Script to force a unit to one-time refuel without changing the default refuel doctrine? I just want them to take a sip while they are near a tanker before the long mission.
