Alfred Czeh -
aged 12 -while under artillery and machine gun in ww2 helped 12 wounded german soldiers , brought 11 cows to
safety and delivered a soviet spy to the police.
Severely wounded by a shot through his lung .
Captured and released in 1947.Image

You want a master race then that's how you do it. Teach fanaticism to the young and they'll grow up to be tomorrow's monsters with no tolerance on politics, religion, or race. As war gamers I appreciate that we concentrate soley on the art of war and not on the causes. I have no love for nazism or communism yet I have no problem playing the Germans or the Russians when gaming. So, that's why I do it. Alfred Czeh was a very brave boy but I wander what sort of a man did he grow up to be. SeeYa!

The winners teach history to losers, you don't have the right to change that, Fuselex.
When i was young, in my casern, they said me Russians will come and we will drink Vodka.
They didn't come.
I continue to drink Whisky! [:D]

Fuselex, I certainly take your point and it was not missed on me. The heroism of the Nazi youth was legendary in the final days of WWII. I guess as a veteran, the thought of some kid, regardless of bravery, could have contributed to doing harm to me and my buddies has a different impact on me. However, I do appreciate you bringing up the history and teaching me something new. SeeYa!

thank you hailstone
In the end , the point really was why do we send a child to war?.
I for one appreciate what ever vet has done for me ,
But for every vet there is another one on the other side who never wanted to go either :)

I have 3 children , the eldest is 26 ,doing her last year of her phd.
I also have 2 boys aged 23 and 21.
I have never had to serve and at this point in time I hope the boys will never have to either .
The hope that my children do not have to serve is because of the others who have.
