Zooming Problem with Touchpad

I'm one of those gamers who like to play their strategy game on a notebook/laptop while comfortly reclined on a couch.

That is, I don't use a mouse, but a touchpad.

Now, as a touchpad does not have a mousewheel, this function is emulated by sliding down or up the pad with two fingers. In this game, it is working in principle, but the sensitivity is so fickle that I always zoom in our out maximally. I can get to the middling zoom level by "accident" only.

This unfortunately makes this game rather uncomfortable to play, but there seem to me two very easy solutions:

1) Add a zooming sensitivity option to the options menue
2) Add two small zooming-in and out buttons to the UI (like we used to have in games before the mousewheel).
3) If the above is not possible, please add at least keyboard commands for zooming in and out.

I really would like those zooming buttons.

Hmm ... any comment from the devs on this subject? I know it's a non-issue for other type of games, but I'm positive that a sizeable portion of strategy gamers like to play their games on laptops with a touchpad every now and then.

I think the least we could do is add keyboard zoom in and out hotkeys (for now) and I'll add it to my list.

I can zoom using + and - on my keyboard. I would like to rebind them though for easier one-handed play (having the same issue with touchpad zoom).

Wow, that's indeed working! I had been looking for keyboard commands in the manual and there it wasn't mentioned. However, +/- are indeed not the best keys (for German keyboard layouts at least). Still better than nothing, though.
