How to Repair with an ARD (No Walker please)

Post by apbarog »

I'm having trouble getting ABSD-1 to repair Saratoga. Saratoga has 5 flotation damage. ABSD-1 has a ship lift capacity of 55,000 tons, so it can lift Saratoga, which is 37,200 tons.

Before I list out what I've tried so far (which can be seen in my recent AAR postings), I'll ask a couple of questions:

ABSD-1 has 1 SYS damage currently. Does this prevent it from repairing another ship?

Is there a port size requirement, or a supply requirement, for getting the ARD to repair another ship?

Yes. The ARD must be at no damage of any kind.

Otherwise, once you have it at zero then you simply set Saratoga to Repair Ship.

Keep in mind that 5 floatation damage can also be repaired at pierside in a level 7+ port.

Thank you so much Lokasenna. I've been moving the ARD to bigger ports, hoping that would fix the issue. It is at Gove now. I was hoping to keep Saratoga close to Darwin, if I could, instead of sending it to Sydney. For just 5 flotation damage, it seems like a good idea to fix it at Gove.

I couldn't figure out why a smaller ARD in the area is working fine, at a small port, but this one would not. It's just the 1 point of SYS damage then.

Thanks again.

Yeah, keep an AR with the ARD. It can help fix any damage on the ARD, so it, in turn, can then fix the ships better.

LOL I ate at Camino yesterday - the one up by Siegel HS. I've got family in Murfreesboro and live in Huntsville; yes next time I've got time on a visit I'd like to meet up and talk about the game.

Thinking of making the NYD trip up for the game this year but alas SP will be closed w/ it being Sun & NYD. If you happen to make the return trip to Bartow in Feb, send me a pm - we might have tailgate going or at least a pregame meet somewhere so you'd be welcome
