Operation Ironhide

Operation Ironhide Phase 1 is underway and the forces should be landing at Tanna and Mare' in the next eight hours. The only losses to date was the Yorktown taking two torpedoes from a Japanese submarine, the carrier is fully capable of flight operations but has been diverted to Sydney for repair.

To date Japanese losses are two xAX and one PB.

Japanese forces in Burma have begun working to outflank out positions in Rangoon. As additional forces are not available to reinforce the area --- a tactical withdraw to the Indian boarder may be required. We were able to drive them out of Prome on the 9th of June but they have returned in greater force. We are shuffling forces around to hold the line, but unless additional forces become available we will need to examine the "Rangoon" question if for no other reason than to shorten the line.

The Singapore Issue

After a detailed staff by both the American and British Naval staffs we do not see that it is possible to relieve Singapore at this time. While Lieutenant General McLeod forces have withheld all that could be asked for of mortal men, we project they will be overrun in the next thirty to sixty days as their stockpiles of supplies run out.

At this point Singapore has ~24K of supplies on-hand and all naval routes above the water have been cut off. Supplies of critical materials along with the evacuation of the wounded continues via submarines but these simply can't provide the level of supply needed to prevent the stockpiles form being exhausted. We have also see the Japanese forces bring in additional forces, rotate units into the line and rotate them to the rear to recover. None of which we can do.

Lieutenant General McLeod forces have yet again smashed another all out assault on Fortress Singapore, The Gibraltar of the East. In a break for the last several weeks of massive artillery bombardment launched a Deliberate attack to take the city by force. Japanese's forces were replaced yet again, suffering massive casualties. Reporting from the Headquarters of the Malaya Army on June 24th 1942.

After completing the First Phase of Ironhide, the Combined Allied Carrier Fleet moved stuck at Tabiteuea. The objective of this strike is confusion the actual objective of the Second Phase of Ironhide and the follow on operation Bonecrusher. The fleet will strike for one more day and the fall back to Pago Pago to refuel/rearm for the Second Phase of Ironhide. With the Yorktown heading to Sydney for repair Combined Allied Carrier Fleet consists of the Enterprise, Hornet, Illustrious and the Formidable. The Wasp will join the fleet at Pago Pago.

I agree but in fairness to my opponent it was more of a target of opportunity. After the submarine ambush on the Yorktown it was safer at the landings to head west and then on to Pago Pago. If along the way I can get him directed to the Central Pacific so much the better.....
