Chitose Conversion

Post by Sash21 »

Hi all,

i´m playing scenario #007 as Pbem-game. Now, we are at Nov 10th 1942 and i want to converse CS Chitose to CVL Chitose.

Although she is anchored at Yokohama (Upgrade allow) the conversion don´t start.

Anyone have thoughts/explanations how can it be?

I´m using the latest version of the game.

I don't remember but you have to wait about 18 months before you're allowed to convert. I value those four conversions (Chitose, Chiyoda and the other two {Nishin and something}) so highly I take them out of service as soon as I can in the campaign game and let them sit until conversion is possible.

Just off the top of my head here but I remember reading a thread by someone asking the exact same question, and I believe the answer was that the only location to do the CS to CVL conversions were in Tokyo.

Must be at Tokyo.

Shipyard must also be at least size 50, I think.

Which means you have to do some building in Tokyo IIRC. Also I don't believe all four have to be done in Tokyo, only two (Chitose & Chiyoda). There was rationale put forth, but I don't recall exactly what it was. I think it was done by the developers and had something to do with not allowing the conversion to be easy or done overseas I THINK... Hal

Yes, I think the shipyards in Tokyo need to be built up to 50. Off the top of my head.

In Scen 2 it starts at size 50, but IIRC not in Scen 1.

Greyjoy had a very bad year with problems at work and then his father passed away. He seems to have lost his zest for the game and the forums.
We can only hope he recovers his previous élan.

Also keep in mind that Chitoses and Chiyodas float plane groups convert to Carrier planes if they are onboard. Nishin and Mizuhos groups dont.

I didn't know that. I'll have to make a note of that somewhere. [:)]

Checked out the link that Buckrock posted, I didn't realize you had to upgrade the Tenryu's and the Nagara's to even "reveal" their conversion to CLAA option.

Yup, Tenryu's start in Feb '42. Nagara's sometime latter. Don't recall when though.
