I have not been able to get Intel monkey/tracker to work properly and since I am usually laying on my bed when I am using the computer, it is tedious to get things straightened out in that position.

Yes, where the enemy unit was in the tracker/Intel Monkey stuff. Then it will disappear for awhile if it was killed, then it would show up again but probably back in the Home Islands. That would at least give you an idea when the unit was killed and then when it was bought back.

But like I also said, it would be a a good idea to keep track of killed then rebuilt units separately to at least give you an idea of the strength of the rebuilt units.

With the road/rail net on the Home Islands the situation in terms of what a particular invasion is facing can change too fast for that to be useful. The overall situation doesn't matter to me - the invasions are going in no matter what! [:D]

Of course I am sure that we have firepower superiority over the defenders in the home Islands, so I'm not worried that they might overwhelm us, only that they might stymie our advances at certain points. That's the reason for invading at four widely separated points.

Hold them by the nose and kick them in the . . . (Some people might complain if I finished it!)

With your floating artillery, you can also put the hurt on at any coastal targets - as long as there are no minefields there. Would it help if you put minesweepers in bombardment task forces? Keeping the task forces a long way from the coastal defense guns, of course.

Also, by attacking at multiple disparate points, you can cut up the Home Defense network and then destroy the pieces. Much like what the Finns did to the Soviets in the Winter War.

Home Islands west. Heavy attacks against support of our beachhead continued and yielded another night torpedo hit and a day kamikaze hit. There were also surface attacks by different types of small combatants and one by a destroyer. There was also a sub attack. The naval bombardments again were undaunted and had punishing effects. Our ground attack went well but was bloody, more so for us.

We have 1,731 AV at Kumamoto after the attack. Our ground troops have been safe from air attack and punishing any attempts at artillery bombardment and so should recover quickly. The Imperials are hit night and day and should remain hurt. Now compare the Imperial AV to that of yesterday, and compare the units present! I would say that while the Empire's reinforcement efforts certainly shored up the defenses and will delay us, they have not stopped that invasion. Several dive bomber groups have been moved up to start dropping 1,000 pound bombs from 5,000 ft and others are staging their way in. Also moving up a number of land based TB squadrons to add the weight of their 500 pound bombs. When the next attack is ready we will also bring in as many of the P-51B and P-38 ground attack assigned squadrons as nearby airbases can support.

Air losses. A number of kamikaze and likely conventional strikes were almost entirely warded off in spite of many having good escort.

Imperial units at Kumamoto yesterday (left) and today (right), sorted and spaced to highlight newly arrived units. The amount of armour that the Empire rushed in is particularly noteworthy. Recon of Kumamoto shows 38 units of 72,720 troops with 668 guns and 1,568 AFV.

This should make it easier for the next invasion.

I am hoping the vehicle casualties for the Empire are all tanks since I suspect they have little motorized support such as the Allies have. I suppose the next attack will tell us more.
