max tax rate?

Post by kn0x »

Hi, according to the ingame manual the maximum tax rate should be 50%.

This seems not to be true, as I can tax my people up to 100%.

Seems like a bug to me.

Right now I'm taxing my homeworld 97% and they are still happy -> [:)] with 98% compliance

+1 for realism

and now I'm at a point where I can set taxes to 100% at each maxed out planet.

this really feels broken, can somebody please confirm that this is not a bug?

No, regular steam version.

Here is a screenshot of my colonies screen:

It's wierd.
The max. you can set tax to using the right-click tooltip is 50%. If you try to set it higher it immediately jumps back to 50.
If you open up the colony screen and set the tax by typing a number in the box or using the arrows, you can set it to anything you like and it stays.

The tax needs to be able to go all the way to 100% so Corporate Nationalism works. (Although you could argue that it doesn't do that anyway. [:'(])
But letting the player do this is p. broken as the 'happy' races can run 100% tax and not even care, giving them what amounts to an infinite money fountain.
