Is it possible to neutralize Malta without capturing it?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Is it possible to neutralize Malta without capturing it?

Post by DarthFreddy »

Basically will Malta stop interfering with my supplies if I bomb the city? To what level, the ports too?

Thx

I don't think so, you have to capture it.

Yup, I remember it even "hindered my supply" once while I had it totally surrounded. [8|]

Ask Ethel, err, the Manual:

"1.4. The Importance of Malta
and Gibraltar
From January 1941, providing Malta is in Allied
hands and an Allied unit is present in the island, then
Axis resources in North Africa will suffer frequent
strength reductions. This will reduce Axis supply,
and therefore the combat efficiency of their units.
The Axis are therefore advised to attempt to
take Malta if they wish to launch a successful North
African campaign.
If the Axis take Gibraltar, then the presence of an
Axis unit there will act like the Malta effect described
above, except in this case Allied resources in the
Mediterranean will be hit."

So there is an alternate way to shut Malta down: destroy the garisson.
